Genesis Energy Africa (GENA) is a subsidiary of Genesis Ventures (100% ownership) headquartered in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). GENA is committed to increasing the electricity generation capacity from renewable energy sources and thereby, expanding residential and commercial access to power.
The overall residential and commercial market for electricity is immense in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This high-growth country has an estimated population of 80 million people that is expected to double by 2050. However, the country has an electricity access rate of only 10%, expected to reach 25% by 2030.
